Acuerdo India aims to assist financial institutions in resolution of long pending NPA recoveries. There is support required for finding relevant investors at the desired price however financial institutions find it difficult due to absence of formal Asset Disposal Team which has network and focus to dispose of the assets for recovery instead of waiting for the borrower to come forward for settlement. Many times borrower wants to settle the loan however due to lack/shortage of funds they are unable to do so.
We either arrange funds through finance for OTS or try to convince borrower for sale of assets which helps in fetching higher price for assets than in auction which is a win-win situation for financial institution and borrower both.
